#5: Don’t Trust Everything You See on TV
A former medical school student took to the Reddit forum to share something that has bothered them for a while. They didn’t share any survival skills or first aid insight. However, they shared a tidbit of health information that almost everyone gets wrong thanks to popular TV shows like “ER.” As it turns out, you can’t shock someone back to life if their heart stops.

Unfortunately, the dramatic scenes we see of actors using defibrillators are not realistic. You can’t shock someone’s heart back into use. The reality is that defibrillation delivers powerful shocks to correct or reset a heart’s rhythm.
