#47: Use Your Hands
Starting a fire without a lighter seems like a pretty valuable life skill to have. You never know when you’ll need to a) build a fire to survive or b) start a campfire to impress your crush. Someone shared a hot tip for stoking a fire that works almost every time. If you’re trying to stoke a fire or turn an ember into a flame, pinch your thumb and pointer finger together.

Then, press your lips against your fingers and blow into the lower part of the fire. This creates a concentrated stream of air that encourages a fire to start. We have a feeling this technique takes some practice, but it’s good to keep in mind if you ever need it.
