#21: Don’t Zig or Zag
There’s a common myth about how to escape from an aggressive alligator. For some reason, the myth says that you have to run away from an alligator in a zig-zag pattern. The truth of the matter is that running away in a zig-zag is the last thing you should do when confronted by an alligator.

We have no idea where this myth came from, but it’s dangerous. If you encounter an alligator, try to make yourself appear larger and intimidating. If that doesn’t scare the alligator off, run for the hills. Only run in a straight line, not a zig-zag. Running back and forth will just give the alligator more of an opportunity to catch up with you and make you his lunch.
