To nobody’s surprise, the numbers show that people who speak Arabic have been subjected to increased scrutiny and searches at airport security compared to other passengers. This has raised concerns about racial profiling and discrimination in the TSA’s security measures. But the TSA claims that the searches are conducted based on a passenger’s perceived threat level

However, it’s clear that the agency needs to be more transparent about its procedures and ensure everyone is treated fairly. It’s important for us to hold our government agencies accountable and make sure that our rights are protected. If they target one group of people, it won’t be long before they target other groups in our society as well.
