#13: Walking
Sadly, even going for a walk can lead to all sorts of racist incidents for POC. To keep safe, it’s important to be aware of your surroundings when walking, especially in unfamiliar places. To stay safe, trust your instincts; if something doesn’t feel right, avoid it. Keep your phone charged and with you.

You may consider carrying some personal protection, like pepper spray. Walk confidently, stay alert, and don’t be afraid to speak up if someone makes you uncomfortable. Remember, you have the right to protect yourself, and don’t let anyone make you feel otherwise. Stay safe out there and do what you can.
