#8: Abandoned Behemoth
While shipwrecks intrigue many, we’ve already established how frightening large nautical objects are for both megalophobes and thalassophobes. We can add submechanophobia – a fear of partially submerged man-made objects – and navisphobia – the fear of shipwrecks – as well. In fact; this photo runs the gambit. Homichlophobia – the fear of fog – would be triggered as well! We’re not making this up.

Shipwrecks are pretty common, as there are reported to be over three million of them worldwide, which means a few of these fears aren’t quite as irrational as we all think. However, for spelunkers, shipwrecks are a dream come true. These abandoned sites come in varying degrees of decay, and sometimes, unique objects can be found inside.
