#5: Fear of Heights
Megalophobia, trypophobia, thanatophobia, acrophobia… the list of phobias this photo could trigger for people is endless. I suffer from none of the above, and still, this giant crater gives me the chills. While many claim this is photoshopped, it’s actually an aerial view from the edge of the town located on an excavation.

The mine is in Siberia, near the Arctic Circle, and over 40,000 people live along the edge. During the summer, the sun is visible for 20 hours per day, so let’s add heliophobia to the list as well. There’s a lot of controversy surrounding this line specifically, as it’s one of the top locations to mine for diamonds.
