#28: Surely That’s a Forced Perspective?
Remember the giant bat photo that went viral a few years ago? It looked six feet tall, but in truth, it was only around 15 inches. The photo was taken at just the perfect angle to create the illusion. This photo, however, has done the opposite. This is the sunfish, and while you might think it’s small, from fin top to bottom, it’s fourteen feet!

Those gentle giants are enormous. Remember, the average bedroom ceiling height is around 8 feet, so if you’re in bed, look around. This fish wouldn’t have room to swim! Even those without megalophobia would have issues being close to this guy. Honestly, it’s creatures like this that cause thalassophobia – fear of dark water. You never know what’s lurking beneath.
