Only the Best Is Good Enough

I was never into Legos when I was a kid, so I was astonished when I got older and found out how expensive some of those sets can be. We are talking hundreds of dollars for some of them! If you really love them, then it’s worth it. But it seems like a terrible waste of money to spend all of that money buying fancy Lego sets for a kid not old enough to actually use them.

I wonder if these parents are aware of the existence of Duplos, which are Legos except really big and therefore more appropriate for small children. It just seems like it might be nice for you to buy a toy for your kid that the kid actually might like. I don’t know, I’m just thinking out loud here, but it seems like that should be the most important criterion in picking a toy.
