OK, the disdain in this writer’s tone is making me second guess myself, but… would an Apple Watch not count your steps better on your shoe? At the very least, it wouldn’t incorrectly register steps when you were just moving your arms around. That seems like an advantage.

Because believe me, smartwatches can definitely confuse arm movements with steps. I once put my smartwatch on my right hand while playing the guitar, just out of curiosity, and at the end of a 2-hour jam, it had registered 7000 steps. So I’m just saying, maybe putting it on your shoe does give you a more accurate count.
