Don’t Go into the Basement

Read this next story and just try to tell me that it does not sound like the beginning of a horror movie. A big, beautiful old mansion sits in the rolling hills of the South. Our protagonist goes to visit for the first time as a house cleaner, and at first, she thinks that the place is beautiful and that the people who live there must be so lucky.

But then she begins to notice that things are a little off. The kitchen and bathroom are strangely decrepit, as though the owners don’t feel the need to carry on the facade of wealth and beauty inside the house. She is told never to go into the basement. And then, one day, she can’t resist taking a peek, and what she sees there shocks her! I guess “the basement is full of old clothes” isn’t the best twist for a horror movie. But still.
