What Did That Tree Ever Do to You?

I’m not immediately disdainful of big-city folk who decide they want to buy a house in the country and pretend to be farmers; I’m sure that some of them are very nice and do a very good job of pretending not to be city slickers.

But I’m definitely a little baffled by someone who moves to the country so that they can work off their feelings by getting out and doing manual labor, but then that manual labor is just them hacking indiscriminately at trees and ruining them. Surely that is not a net gain for the countryside.
