Sock It to Me

One year when I was in college, I was running dangerously low on socks, and as a broke college student, I didn’t want to buy more. So when Christmas rolled around and people asked me what I wanted, I told them to get me socks. And boy, oh boy, did they deliver. I have never in my life owned so many socks all at once. I think I still have some of the pairs.

The point of all this is to say that I actually don’t think this one is too weird. I mean, there’s a chance that this guy had some weird obsession with socks, but it’s also super possible that he has just ended up with a bunch of socks in one way or another, and he figured that it made sense to hold on to them because they will wear out eventually, and then he’ll have backups.
