Taking up space

We give the young a hard time for being inconsiderate, but social media is full of situations where teenagers have campaigned for social change, invented ingenious nets that reduce plastic in the ocean, looked after their elderly neighbors, and generally made the world a better place. You’re just as likely to find a rude old person as you are a rude teenager.

These girls, though, are giving their generation a bad name but taking up far too many seats and leaving older people standing. I’d like to say that they just hadn’t noticed, and that is likely, but it’s just as likely that they have noticed but don’t want to give up their prime positions.
