Flying is an arduous task nowadays. It seems like every flight is bound to have some sort of delay or cancellation. It’s not uncommon to see disgruntled and enraged passengers on an average flight. The thing is, the people working your flight are just as ticked off as you.

An airline worker revealed that flight attendants and pilots don’t get paid until they’re in the air. Boarding, deplaning, and tarmac delays are all technically off the clock. The airline employees that people love to yell at are literally not getting paid enough to deal with all the stress. Next time you feel the urge to yell at a flight attendant for a delay, just remember this tidbit of information.
