#20: Kindness Is Key
Why do so many people out there not realize how far kindness can get them? Service workers have to deal with irate people all day, every day. There’s no way they’re going to go out of their way to accommodate someone who is acting nasty and mean. Former receptionists and service workers have repeatedly told the internet that they will help out customers who are nice and friendly, not rude and loud.

Take this former receptionist, for example. They worked the front desk at a doctor’s office and would often squeeze walk-in appointments if the person inquiring was polite and friendly. If the patient was rude and demeaning? Hmm, it looks like there are no openings for six months. So sorry.
