If you ever buy a house and take on a mortgage, you better be ready to keep immaculate records. The truth of the matter is that most of these mortgage companies are sloppy. Mortgages are sold and transferred between so many companies that official records often get lost in the mix. 

It’s best to keep records of every single payment and piece of paperwork in case any mortgage companies lose track of your payments. The thought of having an incomplete payment record sounds anxiety-inducing. Look out for yourself and pay attention. There’s nothing worse than having to pay thousands of dollars for no reason!
