It’s Not About You

It’s already been said many times in this article, but weddings are about the bride and groom. Weddings are not about the ex-girlfriend, the mother’s wishes, the father’s finances, or what you’re hoping to gain in the future. The wedding, and thus any speeches given during the wedding, should always and exclusively be about the happy couple.

Fertility, in particular, is a very tricky subject and should be avoided at all costs. This poor bride was put under a spotlight with her father’s speech. Regardless of whether a couple is experiencing trouble conceiving, it’s very simply one of anyone’s business when (and if) they have children.
