Didn’t Get the Memo

Certain things should be common sense. Unfortunately, it’s not something that everyone actually has, like the DJ in this story. There’s really no reason, in any situation, to specifically point out widowers and remind them of their loss. Even if he wasn’t aware of the special situation, it seems uncalled for and unnecessary. It’s especially distasteful at a wedding. What was this person thinking?

I can understand why the DJ would be unaware of the situation as he wouldn’t necessarily have been part of the wedding itself, just the reception. Nonetheless, we just don’t see why he had to mention the widows specifically. What did he gain from it? Was he trying to be funny? Stick to the music next time, you’re not a comedian.
