Signed, Sealed, Delivered
So who remembers when Netflix used to have a mail service? The whole world hadn’t quite been converted to the idea of streaming (plus a lot of us didn’t have good enough internet to make it a reasonable possibility), so Netflix, trying to complete with places like Blockbuster and RedBox that gave you actual physical DVDs, would actually send you movies in the mail.

A lot of young people today wouldn’t believe it, but there was a period when that actually occurred. Personally, I’m glad we’re past that point in human history. Getting Netflix in the mail feels like the worst way to watch a movie—I’d rather stream a movie, where I can get any movie I want immediately, or go to a video store, where the selection isn’t as good but at least I can pick it up and walk out of the store with it right then. Choosing a movie and then waiting several days for it to arrive in the mail is a terrible option. When you think about it, it’s kind of amazing that Netflix didn’t go under immediately.
