Bait and Switch

Believe it or not, the main reason people work isn’t that they love working – it’s to make money. So when this person started a new job thinking their wage was one number and it ended up being lower… well, what did management expect to happen? But they didn’t seem to understand why this person brought it up at all.

With pay transparency becoming more and more common – and even written into law in certain places – it’s wild that companies still think they can get away with things like this. But if the Great Resignation taught us anything, it’s that people aren’t afraid to leave their jobs if they feel they can get better treatment somewhere else.
