#56: Dead or Alive

The Mandela effect usually refers to misapprehensions or false memories that are shared by an entire group, but it’s possible to have a false memory that is just yours alone. For instance, this person distinctly remembers going to their grandpa’s 70th birthday party when in actuality was in his sixties at the time.

The moral of this story, I think, is that 7-year-olds are not that bright. When I was seven, I thought a polar bear lived behind our garden shed. So what the heck do 7-year-olds know, really? I’m not sure if this person shares this memory with his entire family, or if it’s just his memory.
