List this under “things 90s kids will remember”: drawing the sun wearing sunglasses. I mean, maybe that’s something kids still do; I have no idea. But back in the day, we all did it. So it’s not too surprising that this person assumed that the designers of the Raisin Bran box had done it as well.

What’s really mysterious about all this is why we all drew the sun wearing sunglasses. Who had that idea first, and how did it spread across the world? I know kids did it in the US and the UK, at the very least. How in the world did children transmit ideas across the world, especially in the days before every seven-year-old had a smartphone?
