Did You Just Summon Garry?

Wouldn’t it be cool if you could somehow telepathically call your friends without even using your phone? In an alternate universe, that would be a pretty cool superpower to have. But if it happened when you didn’t expect it, you’d probably be weirded out! 

It sounds like that’s what happened to the original poster of this story, whose buddy Garry showed up at the bar at the same time the OP sensed he was there! The weirdest part is that Garry swears OP called him and invited him to come, and yet neither of them has any record— or memory— of the phone call.
