#4: Fated Dates
This was probably a one-in-a-million coincidence. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum has had over 47 million visitors since it was opened in April 1993. Each person gets a postcard when they walk in the door. It’s not the matching birthday that truly gives you chills, though. It’s the date of death.

It really drives home that these were real people. Studying history and visiting museums is the best way to understand the past, but we often forget that these people had entire lives from birth to death and that the events that occurred happened to them in real time.
