#15: Subconscious Recognition
We can usually tell when something is up with our parents. My mom refused medical care for years and then passed out one day and ended up in the hospital. My husband was trying to be optimistic, but I looked right at him and said, “She’s never walking out of there.”

I was right. Three days later, she died of cancer while I held her hand and played a song by Matt Maeson called “Grave Digger.” It’s part of being human, our ability to recognize minor signs and filter them into our brains, then use that knowledge later. Our dreams are part of this process.
