#28: Making Friends
Here’s a lovely history fact you may or may not have known. In 1866, Liechtenstein’s army went to war with 80 soldiers and returned home the next day with 81 men. As the story has it, they saw no combat, and on their journey home, they bumped into an Italian man who befriended them and decided to come back with them.

Now, to be fair, historians aren’t exactly sure the term friend is the right one here; some say it was a liaison sent along with the Liechtenstein army; others say the young man wasn’t looking for friends, but rather he was looking for work opportunities in another country. We say – don’t let the facts ruin a perfectly lovely story!
