The great thing about kids? They don’t hide their feelings. Unlike adults who can force a smile through irritation, an unhappy child is unmistakable—and one surefire way to get them there is by bringing them somewhere they’d rather avoid.

Take this little guy, for instance. He’s stuck at a gathering with no friends his age, dressed up in formal clothes (every kid’s nightmare). His scowl says it all, capturing a blend of boredom and frustration. At least he’s genuine, unlike the adults around him, all putting on cheerful faces despite their lack of enthusiasm for the event.
