22. Brave, But Ultimately Foolish, My Old Friends
Just looking at this raises my blood pressure. The amount of socks we are capable of losing over time is mind-boggling. How are there so many single socks without their other half? I could swear I put in a full set, yet somehow socks diminish in number at an absurd rate!

Lost in some sort of a black hole, they say. Or the sock dimension. Or the “misc” dimension for lost things that include not only socks but also keys, paperclips, important paperwork, gloves, etc. It’s such a damn common occurrence, there is even a name for it! Disappearing Object Phenomenon, or DOP for short.
