HBO’s Game of Thrones might have had a controversial ending, but it delivered plenty of memorable moments. One such moment it featured an unscripted kiss between Gemma Whelan and Indira Varma. Whelan explained that the kiss felt natural and evolved into a more intimate moment because both actresses believed it suited their characters’ relationship.

However, this spontaneous scene had an unexpected twist. Whelan sustained an injury during filming, requiring a stunt double to step in. Varma later mentioned that although the stunt double was experienced with action-packed sequences, this intimate scene seemed to leave her feeling more than a little nervous.
