#2: Will Smith and Anthony Hall

While filming Six Degrees of Separation in the early 1990s, Will Smith hesitated about sharing an on-screen kiss with his co-star Anthony Hall. Although he was portraying a gay character, Smith was reportedly uncomfortable with the idea of filming the kissing scene and tried to persuade the director to shoot it from behind.

This would have allowed for a body double or created the illusion of a kiss without it happening. Years later, Smith regretted the incident, admitting that he wasn’t in a suitable mental space then and suggesting he would handle the situation differently today.
