#18: Thandie Newton and Gerard Butler

Thandie Newton’s reasons for avoiding an on-screen kiss were quite understandable. She and Gerard Butler were set to film a kissing scene for RocknRolla, but Butler showed up on set with a nasty cold.

Not wanting to catch his illness, Newton refused to go through with the kiss and asked the director to find an alternative way to film the scene. The director obliged and came up with a creative solution to meet Newton’s request. Ultimately, the scene was shot successfully without close contact, and Newton avoided catching a cold.
