Goodbye… For Good?

Sometimes it’s hard to tell if a kid is being sweet or totally ominous. Parenting woes, right? This dad was shaken to his core one night after putting his two-year-old son to bed. He did the usual bedtime routine, tucking him in and saying goodnight. Instead of the usual reply, his son said something unexpected and concerning. 

Saying “goodbye” instead of “goodnight” has a particularly ominous edge to it. He was little, so he probably didn’t understand the heavy meaning behind his words. Even though this dad probably knew his son was just playing around with phrases and new words, that didn’t stop him from checking on him throughout the night. We don’t blame him. We’d do the same thing!
