Late-Night Television

If you’ve ever seen The Poltergeist, you undoubtedly remember the iconic scene of the little girl sitting in front of a static-filled TV saying, “They’re here.” It’s absolutely terrifying but, thankfully, fictional. Well, kind of. This storyteller had their own Poltergeist moment when babysitting their little four-year-old cousin. 

They couldn’t figure out how to turn off the TV, so it was just a bunch of black-and-white static on the screen, which is pretty spooky on its own. Instead of helping, their little cousin went into full-on creepy mode. They stared unblinkingly into the screen and calmly told our storyteller how they could see a bunch of monsters. Gotta love little kids!
