#35: The Pop-Up Toaster
The pop-up toaster that we know and love today might be a lot older than you think. The first pop-up toaster was sold in 1926 after a Minnesota mechanic named Charles Strite perfected his easy-to-use design. The name of the original pop-up toaster might sound familiar. They called it the Toastmaster.

The original Toastmaster changed the game of making toast. The new and improved invention was originally intended for restaurants because it made toasting faster and safer. No longer did people have to manually flip their toast to get an even burn. Even better, the Toastmaster had a timer that automatically ejected the toast when it was ready. It was truly revolutionary, especially for bread lovers.
