#31: “This Is Terrible”

I’ve been on both sides and can verify this is 100% true. Granted, when I didn’t have a job, I wasn’t struggling for money, but I was also bored 100% of the time. Having a job makes you feel like a valuable and productive member of society. That said, it comes with deadlines, stress, and actual work, so it’s awful in it’s own way.

This is why a lot of retirees find themselves volunteering. The dream is to sit on the beach and enjoy the savings you’ve built up, but after a week or two, there isn’t much to see and do anymore. How many times can you play bingo and still get excited? I honestly hope never to find out. I’m going to join one of those crazy cool nursing homes that hit up local dives on Thursday nights.
