Over the years, French Bulldogs have undergone significant breeding that has altered their physical characteristics. Despite both male (stud) and female (bitch) Frenchies being capable of reproduction, they are not anatomically suited for natural breeding.

Due to their distinct physical features, such as their large heads and narrow hips, breeding French Bulldogs naturally can present various health risks for both the mother and her offspring. Therefore, most French Bulldog breeders opt for artificial insemination or other assisted reproductive techniques.
