Fishnet stockings have been around for decades, maybe even centuries. The sexy stockings are so alluring because they conceal and reveal at the same time. It is a cheeky, fun fashion accessory that cycles through in popularity. Although we don’t have a definitive origin story for fishnets, there are some popular theories. 

One story goes that fishnet tights started with the showgirls at the famous Moulin Rouge in the early 1900s. Patrons of the club found the fishnet stockings titillating because they could see the hair on the performers’ legs! Whether or not this is true, it’s quite a salacious story.
