48. The Scotch Tape Test

Pinworms are definitely one of the most uncomfortable things a person can experience. It can also be quite difficult to detect whether you have it or not, but thanks to the internet, people have found an effective but unconventional way to check if they have pinworms.

Basically, you apply a piece of transparent tape to the skin surrounding the anus immediately upon waking up. The adhesive side of the tape attracts the pinworm eggs, which can then be analyzed for detection of the parasite. You should than bring the tape to a medical appointment, where a healthcare professional can examine it under a microscope to determine the presence of pinworms or eggs.
