30. A Blip In Time
Us humans are not as important as we like to think. Compared to the age of the universe and planet Earth, our existence is basically insignificant. Our planet is about 4.5 billion years old. In comparison, scientists predict that modern Homo sapiens have only existed for 200,000 years.

If we were to lay out the age of Earth on a 12-hour clock, the amount of time that humans have existed would be about 1/10 of a second. We have not been on this planet for that long in the grand scheme of things, but we have managed to make a huge impact environmentally and physically. Whether that’s a good or bad thing is up for interpretation.
