#38: A Return Hack

This questionable hack seems like way too much effort for the small payoff. But some people who have lots of time might find it worthwhile. If you ever break something shortly after you buy it but don’t have the receipt, simply buy another one. You can then scavenge parts from the new item to repair the old item.

If this already sounds convoluted, just wait. There’s more. If you scavenge for parts, you can return the newly stripped item in the box, claiming it didn’t work. You can also just put the old broken item in the new box and return that. Basically, this hack is trying to say you can get a brand-new item for free by doing a tricky return. Again, this seems way too complicated.
