#37: Service Fees? No, Thanks

Those pesky service fees that third-party ATMs charge are super annoying. We have a tip for how to avoid those if you ever need cash. Simply go with the “cash back” option. The way you do it is by going to a gas station or Target or some such other store. Buy something really cheap with your debit card, like a pack of gum or a candy bar.

Then, you can choose to get cash back from the register. The price of a pack of gum or a water bottle is often way cheaper than the exorbitant service fee those janky ATMs charge. Sure, you still have to pay some money to get your cash, but at least you get a little treat out of it.
