Pay Your Dues

This HOA has a pretty decent scam going on, if you ask us. According to this person, if someone in the community wants to paint their house a different color, the request has to be approved by the HOA board. That seems straightforward enough, but trust us– it’s not. 

In order to submit your request, you have to pay to bring it up in a meeting! You don’t get a refund, either. Even if they deny your color change request, they keep your “request fee.” If you want to try again and suggest another color, you have to pay again. The HOA has created a vicious circle that benefits itself no matter what. They get money, and they ensure people don’t change things up.
