#30: “I Have Steak at Home; Why Go Out For Hamburger?”

Paul Newman famously said the quote, “I have steak at home; why go out for hamburger?” in response to infidelity allegations. However, while he and his wife had long seemed to have a strong relationship, there were several allegations of adultery throughout the years.

Most famously, his affair with Hollywood actress Nancy Bacon while he was filming Butch Cassidy in 1969. He may have denied the claims, but there was a lot of hard evidence supporting the affair. Either way, Woodward and Newman renewed their vows in 1983.
