#9: Big Diomede Island
Nestled in the Bering Strait, Big Diomede and its counterpart, Little Diomede, mark the boundary between Russia and the US. These islands are separated by the International Date Line, making Big Diomede a day ahead of Little Diomede.

Little Diomede is home to about 100 inhabitants who live a traditional subsistence lifestyle, while Big Diomede is uninhabitable for residents. Instead, it hosts a Russian weather station. The stark contrast between the two islands, their strategic geopolitical significance, and their unique time zone difference make them fascinating points of interest.
