#8: Tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang
Discovered in 1974 alongside the Terracotta Army, the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, China’s first emperor and founder of the Qin Dynasty in 221 BC, remains one of history’s most monumental discoveries. Despite its significance, the tomb remains unexcavated to honor and preserve China’s rich historical heritage.

Archaeologists believe it holds invaluable treasures and insights into ancient Chinese civilization, but out of respect for the past and concerns about potential damage, it has been left untouched.
