#7: Uluru
Uluru’s iconic sandstone formation ceased allowing climbing in October 2019 at the request of the Anangu tribe, the area’s traditional owners. This decision aimed to prevent erosion and respect the site’s cultural significance.

Visitors are still welcome to admire Uluru’s majestic beauty and learn about its rich indigenous heritage, but ascending its paths is no longer permitted. This change ensures the preservation of Uluru’s natural and spiritual integrity, allowing future generations to appreciate its splendor.
