#19: Disney’s Discovery Island
From 1974 to 1999, Discovery Island at Walt Disney World in Florida was a popular attraction, showcasing a variety of animal and bird species. Guests delighted in exploring its natural beauty and wildlife exhibits.

However, the island was eventually closed and abandoned, allowing newer attractions. Today, Discovery Island remains a ghostly presence, visible to those passing by boat on Bay Lake. Its overgrown paths and empty structures evoke a sense of nostalgia and curiosity, serving as a reminder of Disney World’s evolving history.
