#36: Sending Mixed Messages

Dealing with a mother-in-law who says one thing and does another can be frustrating. Still, it’s not necessarily a deal-breaker for a healthy relationship. Almost 8% of people report having a mother-in-law who is inconsistent with her words and actions. Just what should you do with someone as obnoxious as this woman?

This person could try speaking honestly with their mother-in-law about how her behavior makes them feel. But I wouldn’t be surprised if she has a perfectly reasonable explanation for why she said one thing and did another. If she didn’t actually want them to check the dog first, she should have just been honest.
