9. Goodbye Norma Jeane, Though I Never Knew You At All
It’s been a strange adjustment this year with the loss of Queen Elizabeth. It feels like she has been on the throne for as long as we can remember, until she passed away last September. Since then, Charles is on the throne (despite plenty of people being of the opinion it’s about time to dismantle the English monarchy). But did you know she was born in the same year as Marilyn Monroe?

Born Norma Jeane Mortenson and taking up Marilyn Monroe as her stage name, Monroe, to this day, is still the very icon of a movie star and will forever hold a place in our hearts. She had a difficult life that ended far too soon, dying in 1962 at the young age of 36. She is famous today for starring in films such as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Some Like It Hot, though is still often overlooked for her comedic brilliance and acting range.
